Private Reformer and Mat Pilates

Hip bridge and mobility exercises on the Reformer. Private Reformer Pilates Shoreditch
I'm Gina — your instructor for these Pilates sessions. I’ll guide you through each movement with clear cues, hands-on refinements when wanted, and options to make every exercise work for your body. My focus is on improving your technique, building sustainable strength and helping you move with more ease and confidence.
What to expect from my sessions
  • Careful teaching of fundamentals: breath, pelvic and spinal alignment, shoulder stability and efficient ribcage movement.
  • Gradual progressions: every class includes options to make an exercise easier or more challenging so you’re always working at the right level.
  • Individual attention: I’ll offer personalised corrections and adaptations so the work suits your current ability and any niggles.
  • Functional strength: we’ll aim for strength that transfers to better posture, less pain and easier everyday movement.
  • Mindful cueing: I use precise, practical language so you can repeat cues outside the session.
A typical session with me
  • Warm-up: joint mobilisation and breath patterns to prepare the body.
  • Core work: controlled Pilates mat or reformer exercises focusing on depth of connection rather than just surface tension.
  • Strength and mobility: exercises that open the shoulders and hips while integrating stability through the torso.
  • Integration: sequences that combine movements into more functional patterns.
  • Cool-down: gentle releases and breath to restore calm and length.
Who these sessions are for
  • People with some Pilates experience who want guided, supportive instruction.
  • Anyone rehabbing minor aches or seeking to prevent recurring problems.
  • Those wanting to refine technique and build usable strength, rather than only chasing flashy moves.
What I ask of you
  • Arrive with an open mind and honesty about any pain or limitations.
  • Communicate if something doesn’t feel right — I’ll offer an adaptation.
  • Aim for consistency: small, regular practice gives the best results.

Reformer and mat Pilates retreats around the world offer focused, restorative experiences for practitioners who want to deepen technique, improve strength and mobility, and enjoy time away in inspiring settings. These retreats range from weekend escapes to week-long and are designed for people with basic Pilates experience up to advanced practitioners. Below is an overview of what to expect, the benefits of each format, typical daily schedules, who they suit, and highlights of popular locations.
Benefits
  • Injury prevention and rehabilitation: emphasis on alignment, progressive loading and balanced mobility reduces risk and supports recovery.

  • Travel and downtime: picturesque locations and scheduled restorative activities provide a break from routine and support holistic wellness.
Typical retreat formats
  • Long Weekend intensive (3-4 days): concentrated sessions, usually a mix of reformer and mat classes, ideal for busy schedules or a taster experience.
